Nastassya Ferns is a PhD student in Sociology at Stony Brook University, who focuses their study on the dynamic relationship between memory, history, and technology. With an eye for connecting the importance of aesthetics in activism, Nastassya’s former life as a graphic artist has helped them to develop a dynamic website which will enhance our mission and message. As a passionate advocate of providing accessible resources to all, they are committed to addressing the importance of connecting community-focused stories to broader disciplines and groups through CKCollective. Communicating our interviewees’ message to the world is a necessary step for us to confront the changes we see in a rapidly evolving environment. Currently, Nastassya is researching the growing phenomenon of climate change monuments and their place in our understanding of an uncertain future.
