Lulya Gebreslassie is a third-year student at the University of Saint Thomas in Saint Paul, Minnesota, where she is majoring in Data Analytics. She also serves as an intern at the Luann Dummer Center for Women. Lulya’s interest in analytics began during an internship as an analyst at Best Buy, where she discovered her natural ability to spot small details that others might overlook—insights she had been applying instinctively throughout her life. This realization solidified her decision to pursue a career in analytics.

In addition to her major, Lulya is minoring in Public Health, driven by her deep interest in how social, economic, psychological, and environmental factors shape public health outcomes. Her passion for understanding these intersections is one of the reasons she is drawn to CKC’s work. Lulya is eager to explore how climate change impacts communities and how she can contribute to making a positive difference in the world. She is excited about the opportunity to be part of an organization that preserves and shares stories that have had a lasting, meaningful impact.

Outside of her academic and professional pursuits, Lulya enjoys watching movies and engaging in thoughtful, critical discussions with friends. While she doesn’t have a single favorite film, she values the memorable moments and enriching conversations that arise from these shared experiences.
